How many teams do you expect to get this year?
In 2011, the number of teams
purchased in the AFFL is expected to be the same as what we finished with last
year. Approximately 192 teams in Silver and 144 in Copper, 144 in Bronze and 624
in Iron.

What would the prize payouts be at these projected numbers?
The prizes are not based on the
number of signups, and will be as stated in the prizes chart.
Is the crystal trophy in addition to the prize money, or
does it get subtracted from it?
The crystal trophy is in addition to
the prize money stated in the prizes chart. The AFFL crystal championship trophy is custom made by FantasyTrophy.com . It is awarded to the overall grand
champion of all levels(Except Iron and Individual
Leagues).
Can I have more than one team in each level?
Yes, but we recommend not having
more than one team at any given draft time, simply because it would be
difficult for one person to draft two teams at once. Also, there is only one Iron team permitted per user.
Can I buy a team for someone else, and have it listed under
their name?
Yes, purchase the team under your
name, and email us at help@affl.com with the name, address, email address, phone number, and
birthday of the person that you are transferring the team to.
Can I change my draft time after I have purchased a team?
No, after July 1st, teams
cannot be moved from one draft time to another, or
from one league to another. Please
choose your draft times carefully.

I just purchased a team and did not receive a confirmation
email; what happened?
Some spam filters will block emails
from AFFL. If you did not receive a confirmation email, go into your
email and check for an email from AFFL in the spam folder. If you do not have a spam folder, or cannot find your
confirmation email, contact us by phone to make sure your purchase went
through. If you believe that emails from AFFL are being blocked by
your spam filter, please add the following email addresses to your trusted
sender list: info@affl.com if you do not know how to do this, contact your email
service provider.

What will my username and password be,
and will they be the same for all of my teams?
Your username will be your email
address, and your password will be what you determine at sign up. This login information will be the same for all of your
teams. If someone else in your household wants to sign up, and they
use the same email address, they can get a second email address from a free
source, such as, yahoo.com. Otherwise,
both of your teams would be listed under the same login information.
Who do you get your statistics from, and when do they become
final?
We get our statistics from Fanstar Sports. Statistics,
and therefore fantasy points, are locked each Friday at 12:00 PM ET. See the Rules and Regulations Section 15 for more
information.

How do you prevent people who know each other from being in
the same league and having an unfair advantage?
Participants cannot request to be
placed in a league with another participant. League placement is completely random. Upon sign up, teams are placed by a computer program into a
league. The computer program is set up to minimize the amount of
duplicate entries from the same state. Also,
the AFFL does not allow trading, therefore, preventing collusion.
How
do you ensure complete 12 team leagues?
In order to maintain leagues of 12,
the AFFL will close draft times early, and choose not to open up any more
leagues at certain times.
When will I know my draft order?
You will know your draft order
approximately one hour before your draft starts or once a league is filled.
Where do I log in to my team home page?
You can log in to your team home
page at http://games.affl.com
Can I pre-rank my players before the draft?
Yes. Before the draft you will have an opportunity to rank your
players. This pre-ranked list can be used during the draft.
How would the draft work if I have a co-manager; can we both
be logged in and choose players from two different locations?
Yes, a team owner and co-manager can
both be logged in at different locations during the draft, however, neither
person has priority when picking players, so the first selection submitted will
be the official pick.
Are there limits to the number of players that can be
drafted at a certain position?
No, any number of players can be
drafted at any position. It
is the participant’s responsibility to draft the appropriate number of players
at each position in order to fill the starting lineup requirements. See Rules and Regulations Section 13, Lineup Submission.
If
I do not attend the draft, can I let the computer auto-select my players, and
would it fill all of the necessary positions for an AFFL roster?
Yes, you can choose to let the
computer auto-select your team if you cannot make it to the draft, although the
AFFL does not recommend doing so. The
computer will pick players based on your pre-draft rankings. If you have not set pre-draft rankings, it will pick from
the default rankings. The
computer is programmed to fill every roster position, however, it does not
necessarily select backups for every position, and it does not take into
account bye weeks. NOTE: If the computer is choosing from players that you have
placed in your draft room pre pick queue, it is not programmed to fill all
roster positions. If there are players in the draft room pre pick queue, the
computer will choose from this location first.
What
if my computer crashes during the draft, or my power
goes out?
Participants have a pre pick queue
available in their draft room. AFFL
suggests that you place several players in your pre pick queue to protect
against a connection issue. The
AFFL will not be able to turn back the draft; participants must protect
themselves by using the queue, and also by pre ranking players. You will have the ability to assign rules to any players
placed in the pre pick queue, such as, what round that player can be
selected. If you loose connection or miss
your pick, the computer will choose from your pre pick queue first, if it
contains players, and will not use your pre draft rankings unless it runs out
of players in the pre pick queue. If
you do not have any players in your pre pick queue, the computer will choose
from your pre draft rankings, or the default rankings
if you have not set pre draft rankings.
When and how can I set my starting lineup after the draft is
completed?
Immediately following the completion
of the draft, you will be able to set your lineup on your team home page under
the My Team, Set Lineup tab.
What is the deadline for submitting a starting player?
The deadline for submitting players
is 10 minutes prior to kickoff for that specific player. Although
it is possible to submit your lineup until just before kickoff, there is no
guarantee that the changes will update unless the lineup has been submitted by
the 10 minute prior to kickoff deadline.
Can
lineups be changed once submitted?
Yes, players can be changed as many
times as you wish until the deadline for that player. If you make changes to your lineup, do not forget to hit the
submit button, to make your changes active.
Does
it matter what order you put your starters in?
No, it does not matter what order
your starters are in. If
you submit a RB in the RB slot or in the Flex player slot, he will still gain
the same amount of points. The
AFFL scores by action, not by position.
Can I use both of my flex positions as Running Backs in my
starting lineup, and start a total of 4 Running Backs?
Yes, your 2 flex players can be any
combination of running backs, wide receivers, or tight ends.
What if I am having problems changing my lineup, and it is
almost game time?
You must email us or call prior to
game time with your line up changes. If you do not get a hold of us by phone, you must send an
email including your lineup changes. IF
YOUR EMAIL IS NOT RECEIVED BY GAME TIME, IT WILL NOT BE HONORED. NO EXCEPTIONS. 773-842-5954
or 773-908-0246 or info@affl.com
How will I be able to see my live scoring, and which teams
will I be able to see?
Under the Live Scoreboard tab, you
can see all of the games in your 12 team league.
Will I be able to see all of the free agent moves from my
league?
Yes, you will be able to see all the
winning free agent bids in your league.
Will I be able to see the rosters and standings from the
other levels, or just the ones that I am in?
You can see the rosters for your
level only.
Do
you have an injured reserve, or do I have to either sit an injured player, or
release him in the free agent market?
The AFFL does not have an injured
reserve. Therefore, you will have to sit or drop an injured player.
What if a team in my league stops playing, leaving bye week
players in their starting lineup, giving an easy win to their opponent?
The AFFL cannot monitor all teams it
has. It is up to the participants of their own leagues to notify the AFFL of
teams no longer being competitive. Only then can we put a competitive line up
in for a team. You can notify us by email ay info@affl.com. Please tell us what League you are in and the Team name
that is in question.
